Equine Assisted Learning Programs at Silver Sage
Each 10-week session is carefully designed to support skill-building in areas such as self-awareness, communication, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and confidence. Participants engage in ground-based interactions with horses and other ranch animals—like donkeys, goats, and pigs—through guided activities, reflective exercises, and team-based tasks.
*Sessions are billed over 3 months on the 1st of each month.*
Children's Programs
Horse Powered Reading
Ages: 6-12
September 8th - November 10th
Monday, 3-4pm
*Class is limited to 6 students
Horse Powered Reading® combines the science of literacy instruction with the movement, presence, and relational wisdom of horses. This innovative program helps students of all reading levels build foundational reading skills, increase comprehension, and boost confidence—all while working side-by-side with our herd.
Through ground-based interactions with horses and the use of physical props, participants explore core reading concepts such as sequencing, visualization, inference, fluency, and vocabulary in a hands-on, memorable way. Horses act as metaphors for the reading process, making invisible struggles visible and empowering students to problem-solve through connection.
Stable Ground
Ages: 7–12
September 8th - November 10th
Wednesday, 2:30-3:30pm
*Class is limited to 6 students
Stable Ground is a trauma-informed, sensory-friendly equine class that provides a safe and steady place for kids who need a slower pace. Each session follows a predictable rhythm, incorporating structured horse interactions, gentle nature-based tasks, and self-soothing tools. Groundwork with horses becomes a way for children to explore boundaries, trust, and emotional awareness in a peaceful ranch setting designed to meet them exactly where they are.
Teen Programs
The Resilience Round Pen
Ages: Teens (13–17)
September 8th - November 10th
Wednesday, 4-5pm
*Class is limited to 6 students
This teen-centered class uses equine connection and metaphor-based activities to help participants navigate challenges and build inner resilience. Through groundwork, observation, and honest reflection, teens learn how their thoughts, actions, and presence affect the world around them—just like in a herd. The Resilience Round Pen is a space where self-discovery, strength, and courage come together in partnership with our most honest teachers: the horses.
