Little Ranchers: Summer Class Schedule (Ages 2–4)

Each week includes a fun, hands-on ranch experience designed for young children. Classes are 1 hour long and include animal visits, sensory play, crafts, and nature-based learning. Please dress your child for outdoor play and bring a water bottle!

 

Week 1: Welcome to the Ranch - June 13th

What to Expect This Week:

• Meet a donkey

• Brush and gently pet animals

• Explore ranch textures with hay and feed

• Sing and move to animal songs

Craft of the Week: Donkey Puppets

Reminders & Notes: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy! Sunscreen recommended.

 

Week 2: Chickens & Eggs - June 20th

What to Expect This Week:

• Visit the chicken coop

• Collect and observe eggs

• Learn simple egg facts

• Dance along to chicken songs

Craft of the Week: Chicken Paper Plate Art

Reminders & Notes: Closed-toe shoes encouraged. We will be walking near the coop.

 

Week 3: Gardening Fun - June 27th

What to Expect This Week:

• Dig and plant in small pots

• Use watering cans

• Explore the garden on a nature walk

• Create foraged flower frames

Reminders & Notes: Please bring a hat for sun protection. We'll be outdoors most of the class.

 

Week 4: Goat Week - July 18th

What to Expect This Week:

• Brush and meet the goats

• Watch goats play and interact

• Walk a goat with help

• Jump and play like goats

Craft of the Week: Goat Headbands

Reminders & Notes: Goats are friendly and curious! We’ll stay low and slow to keep things calm.

 

Week 5: Horses & Donkeys - July 25th

Theme Focus: Horses & Donkeys

What to Expect This Week:

·       • Groom and meet our gentle equines

·       • Walk beside a pony (with staff help)

·       • Explore horse tools and tack

·       • Join our stick pony parade

Craft of the Week: Stick Ponies

Reminders & Notes: We'll be around large animals—encourage calm voices and gentle hands.

 

Week 6: Ranch Round-Up Celebration - August 1st

Theme Focus: Ranch Round-Up Celebration

What to Expect This Week:

• Visit favorite animals again

• Enjoy sensory stations

• Make a ranch keepsake

• Celebrate with bubbles and songs

Craft of the Week: Ranch Photo Frame or Memory Book

Reminders & Notes: Caregivers are welcome to join the final 10 minutes for a certificate celebration!
